Quick Guide

Follow this quick guide to learn the essential steps for creating and managing events on the Calendar website. For comprehensive instructions and advanced features, refer to the detailed guide topics linked below.

Create an Event

  1. Access your Admin Dashboard by logging into your account and clicking on “Administration” on the top right of the calendar or event page next to your name. If you don't see "administration" next to your name you need to request elevated permissions for your account. Request permission here.
  2. Click on “+Add Event” and complete the 5 sections. (Click "+Add Conference" if your event is a single multi-day event).
  3. When ready to publish, click on “Pending” downdrop on the top right of the tabs and click “Publish”.
  4. Click “View Event” on the top right to see your event page.

Manage an Event

  1. Access your Admin Dashboard by logging into your account and clicking on “Administration” on the top right of the calendar or event page next to your name.
  2. Click on “Events” on the left dropdown menu and click “Live” to see a list of events.
  3. Click on the name of the event to manage.
    1. Edit, Delete, Copy, Update Status
    2. View registrants, people interested and event insights
    3. Message event updates to registrants

Check-in Attendees

On the day of the event, attendance can be tracked in a browser by clicking the "Organizer Check-In" button located on the event page below the page header.

Important! This button will only be visible on the day of the event to the event owner and any administrators with access.

Note: Check-in is browser-based and cannot currently be used offline.

Event Feed Widgets Integrations

Showcase Calendar site events on your website with customizable widgets. Each widget pulls in relevant events based on your settings, letting you tailor content for different sections of your site.

  1. Log into your account and click on “Dashboard” next to your name on top right of the calendar page to access your personal dashboard.
  2. Click on “Widget Builder”.
    1. You can also access the widget builder through “Administration” by clicking on “Public Widget Builder” on the bottom right of the Admin Dashboard under “Localist Success Resources”.
  3. Enter widget parameters in the builder form.
  4. Click “Preview Widget” to see a live preview of the widget only.
    1. You can make adjustments to the fields above and preview your widget as many times as you would like until you find one that suits your needs.
  5. When you’re ready to embed your widget, click “Generate Embed Code”.
  6. Copy and paste the widget embed code onto your webpage.

Important! The code must be embedded as HTML source code.
